Mental Health Support for Veterans in Canada

We recognize that the transition from military to civilian life can bring complex emotional and psychological challenges—often shaped by the intensity of past service. Our team offers evidence-based, trauma-informed care tailored to the needs of veterans, with an emphasis on connection, resilience, and long-term healing.

Challenges Faced by Veterans

Canadian veterans are significantly impacted by mental health concerns. Statistics show that:

  • Approximately 1 in 5 Canadian veterans experiences post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, or anxiety disorders, often related to their service.

  • Suicide rates among veterans are nearly 1.4 times higher than the general population, underscoring the need for targeted mental health support.

  • The Veterans Affairs Canada Life After Service Studies report that 30% of veterans face mental health struggles, which can impact their relationships, careers, and overall quality of life.

These statistics highlight the importance of accessible and effective mental health care tailored to veterans’ unique needs. At FlowState Therapy, we provide compassionate, structured support through Ottawa therapy for veterans, helping them address these challenges and work toward healing.
