How it works

  • 1

    Book an Information Call:

The process typically begins with a 15-20 minutes information call. During this call, potential clients can ask questions about our approach, how it works, and whether it may be the right option for them.

Feel Free to call us during office hours.

  • 2

    Nurse Practitioner Consultation:

If the client is interested and suitable for Psychedelic Therapy, the next step is a comprehensive consultation with a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

During this session the NP will perform a full medical and psychiatric assessment, reviewing the client’s mental health history, current medications, and any medical conditions.

  • 3

    Booking the First Sessions:

Upon approval from the NP, clients can schedule their initial treatment sessions. This typically includes:

Planning 4-6 sessions, each spaced a few days to weeks apart depending on the individual’s needs and response to treatment. The schedule can vary based on the condition being treated, the patient's response, and overall goals.

How is it administered? What does it feel like?
Psychedelic therapies, where legally and appropriately prescribed, may involve the use of altered states of consciousness to support deeper emotional insight. Experiences can vary, but many people describe a sense of openness, emotional clarity, or connection during sessions guided by trained professionals.

Our focus is always on creating a safe, grounded environment for therapeutic exploration—whether through mindfulness, somatic work, or other integrative approaches that promote meaningful change.

Preparation Phase

This phase is essential for creating a safe and meaningful therapeutic experience. It sets the foundation for trust, intention-setting, and emotional readiness.

  • Building Trust & Setting Intentions: The therapist collaborates with the client to explore their history, clarify goals, and establish a supportive relationship. Together, they identify intentions for the inner work ahead—what the client hopes to explore or better understand.

  • Education & Grounding Techniques: Clients are introduced to practices that may help navigate expanded states of awareness, such as mindfulness, breathwork, or grounding exercises. Psychoeducation around the process supports emotional safety and self-awareness.

Experiential Phase

This is the phase where clients engage in sessions designed to facilitate deeper insight, somatic awareness, and emotional exploration—often through non-ordinary states of consciousness.

  • Entering an Altered State: In some cases, clients may explore sessions that involve breathwork, music, body awareness, or legally prescribed treatments through other providers. These methods may shift perception, reduce cognitive defenses, and create space for transformative insight.

  • Therapeutic Presence & Support: A trained therapist remains present throughout the experience to offer emotional support, guide the process, and maintain a safe and structured environment. This is a time for reflection, emotional release, and connection to inner material that may be less accessible in standard talk therapy.

  • Somatic & Emotional Processing: Clients may experience shifts in sensation, emotion, or perspective. The therapist helps anchor these experiences, offering a compassionate and steady presence for what arises.

Integration Phase

The integration phase is where insights gained during the experiential session are unpacked, processed, and woven into daily life.

  • Post-Session Reflection & Meaning-Making: After the session, therapist and client reflect on the experience and how it relates to the client’s emotional life, past experiences, or current challenges.

  • Applying Insights to Daily Life: Clients are supported in translating these insights into action—whether that means shifting relationships, developing self-compassion, or reworking old patterns.

  • Ongoing Support & Reinforcement: Integration often includes journaling, mindfulness, movement practices, or therapeutic assignments to help deepen the learning and promote long-term growth.

This phased approach is designed to offer a safe, supportive, and transformative journey—whether you're navigating trauma, looking for emotional clarity, or exploring new dimensions of healing. Each phase builds upon the last, allowing space for insight, growth, and meaningful change.

What happens during Psychedelic Session?

After treatment

Post-Treatment Review

After the initial set of sessions, there will be a follow-up assessment to evaluate the client’s progress, review the effects of the treatment, and determine any next steps. Some clients may achieve significant relief after these initial sessions, while others may need additional support.

Maintenance Sessions

For many clients, the benefits of KAP are long-lasting. However, some may require maintenance sessions periodically to sustain the therapeutic gains. This could mean returning for booster sessions every few weeks or months, depending on individual needs and progress.

Tailored to Individual Needs

The entire treatment plan is personalized, considering each client’s unique mental health journey and goals. Throughout the process, open communication and collaboration with the care team ensure that treatment remains flexible and effective for each individual's needs.
